The sponsors of the Mexican government for International Students is Mexican Government itself. In Mexico, the Directorate-General for Educational and Cultural Cooperation designs and manages the Ministry of Foreign Affairs scholarship program through the University Exchange Service.
The Worth of Mexico Scholarship
The benefits of the scholarship for Mexican students should be maximized by students who want to further their education in Mexico. Below are some of the benefits:
The student will receive a stipend of four times the value of the unit of Measure and Actualization for Undergraduate mobility scholarships, Specializations, Master’s degrees or Masters-level research, Spanish language, or Mexican culture courses.
To receive a monthly stipend that is five times the value of the Unit of Measure and Actualization (UMA) for Doctoral programs and Research periods, Postdoctoral fellowships, and medical specialties and subspecialties.
Receive Scholarships payment at the end of each month.
All fees for registration and tuition, as established by the program at each institution, subject to the final decision of the participating HEI, established in the letter of acceptance.
Student will receive a Health insurance from the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), starting the third month of the scholarship.
Duration of the Scholarship
The duration of Mexico academic scholarship is stated below;
- Programs for students and doctoral students is one academic semester
- Scholarships and Post docs is 12 months, the least is 1 month
- Specialization program is 1 year
- Master’s program is 2 years
- For Doctorate program is 3 years
- For medicinal specialties, 3 years
Eligibility for Mexican Government Scholarship
We are now familiar that the Mexican Government scholarships for international students in 2022 are awarded for academic achievements.
As an applicant you should not live in Mexico at the time of application.
Scholarships cannot begin in November or December except on special cases
All requests for information and all scholarship applications must be submitted to the Mexican Embassy or to the designated Mexican institution.
Needed documents and forms must be in Spanish or submitted with Spanish translations.
Awarded scholarships are not transferable and can not be transferred to subsequent years.

How To Apply for Mexican Scholarship
You can follow the application procedures below to apply for Mexican Scholarship;
- Visit the website to apply online
- Then select the Learning Opportunities Abroad icon at the left-hand side of the online portal.
- Submit the application and print a copy to be signed & stamped by the employer if you’re employed already.
- Then attach an original deposit slip of Rs. 300/ through HEC online Account No.17427900133401 in HBL, Shalimar Recording Company Branch, H-9, Islamabad.
Note that all payments are to be made to HEC through HBL online facility, and this facility is available in all branches of Habib Bank Ltd.
Details of Documents Required
You’re required to send two sets of Mexican application form along with the following documents:
- An essay, explaining your interests in the study
- Copies of all Academic Degrees & Transcripts
- A Letter of Recommendation
- A valid Medical certificate
- And Copies of all mandatory documents as mentioned in the Mexican application form.
