Being productive or rather more productive doesn’t happen in a jiffy. Just try to recall for a moment the amount of time, weeks, months and even years it took to adopt certain habits both positive and negative ones. However, little changes can go a long way in helping to adopt new habits or change bad ones if it’s mixed with these two important ingredients discipline and sufficient time.
I might sound a bit like a motivational speaker but to be honest, being disciplined enough to be even more productive will not be so easy, believe me, I have my struggles on this one too.
So I will require you to be kind to yourself and take on the processes listed below, one step at a time. Here we go
1.) Be rational with your to-do list: Yes, start with making a to-do list. Don’t make it complicated. Relax and try to add extra minutes or time to some tasks. Some items on your to-do list require less or more time to achieve than others. Remember the goal is to become more productive. Therefore, you wouldn’t want to roll over any tasks by procrastinating. Here’s a tip, make your to-do list as rational as you can, don’t overload it with too many tasks. Haven done this, let’s move on.

2.) Make sub targets per task on your to-do list: by this, I mean you should take up a task on your to-do list and break it down into bits and steps.
In this way, for instance on your to-do list is a task you have listed as Cook / Prepare a meal:
- Make a list of the things that must be done or goals that must be achieved in a day
- Go down through your mail box and ascertain exactly what to delegate to others
- Rest a while for 5minutes or less
- Begin implementing your goals for each day early enough Become Even More Productive that day.
You can repeat this procedures daily to be Become Even More Productive.
What’s important to note about this step is that it makes the huge task appear somewhat easier and consequently, expose the fact that some seemingly smaller tasks might actually be more demanding.
3.) Try not to double task while working on a goal: Like I stated earlier, make up your mind to take these productive processes one step at a time. By this, I mean, one goal at a time.
This step provides a great way to achieving a more excellent completed task at the end.

4.) Keep your working environment tidy: Many of us, are unaware of the impact the nature of our work environment has on us and on the work as well. Depending on the type of job you do or the nature of the task you’re carrying out, as much as you can, dispose off all the stuff that are no longer needed or useful.
Ahaa! Here and now you will feel more relieved, having more work space and ofcourse making it easier and faster to find items.
5.) Stick to your schedule: Allocate minutes and time to every task you have on your list. The next thing to do is to stick to your schedule no matter what comes up. This practice becomes norm over time and trust me you’ll be glad you did.
6.) Attach rewards for every task completed: How about placing a reward for yourself periodically for a job well done. Put the results and what you stand to gain before you and don’t let any excuse get in the way.
And yes, good rest and relaxation is a great way to reward yourself but definitely after a productive day. No one wants to reward laziness.
