The National YOUTHS SUMMIT which was launched on Saturday 10th February 2018 at the Students International Conference Center, University of Port Harcourt Abuja Campus brought Nigerian Youths across the states (all walks of life) in attendance. The Summit hosted by a Non Governmental and Non Political Organisation body known as Restructure Ambassadors of Nigeria (RAN) in collaboration with Nigerian Youths for Change and Sensitization Network (NIY-CSEN has its objectives of sensitizing and orienting Nigerian Youths on the needs to re-position themselves for leadership.
The said NGOs believes that Leadership starts from the Mind and Hearts of every individual therefore, for individuals to be good leaders, they must first and foremost restructure their minds, hearts, brains and others as this will automatically affect the institutional framework of any system he/she finds themselves.
The NPO who preaches restructuring and whose definition of restructuring encompasses that of the Federal Republic of Nigeria also believes that the hearts, mind and Brian restructuring paves way for a better institutional structure of any system be it a nation or State.
However, the body advices people to join them (www.restructureambassadorsofnigeria.com) in preaching for individual restructuring first to get a better institutional framework or System thus the following mandate
- Promoting good governance
- Building capacity in youths
- Raising youth technocrats
- Encouraging better electoral practice
- Changing political mindsets
- Promoting law enforcement and rule of law
- Promoting technology and invention among the youths
- Reaching out to Nigerians in Diaspora and above all
- Strengthening institutions through Education hence this youth summit.
In attendance was the Chiarman of the Occasion, the Vice Chancelor, University of Port Harcourt. Prof. Ndowa E. S. Lale ably represented by Dr. Edward (Associate Dean, Student Affairs Department) University of Port Harcourt.
Special Guest of Honour, Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigerian, H.E. Sir, Magnus Nge Abe. Represented by Mr. Akejo Peace. Obio/Akpor, Local Government Chairman, Hon. Chimenem G. N Weli represented by Mr. Bright A. Who all stated their Bosses support for RAN.
Others are Lady Anni Abdusalam, a Radio presenter with Today FM, (95.1) Port Harcourt, Dr. J.N.D Meeniyinikor, Lecturer, Department of Educational Mangement, Faculty of Education, University of Port Harcourt. And Bevis Paul Igbonoba, a Canadian based business guru who is also the Chairman of RAN world wide were speakers at the Summit. The Country’s Youth Director, Mr. Mick Ehis, a Lagos based youth activist and a media man was not also absent in the Youth Summit.
The National YOUTHS SUMMIT ended with and interview granted to Comrade Eme All is well Igocharacha, who is the founder, Nigerian Youths For Change and Sensitization Network (NIY- CSEN) and the Coordinator, Restructure Ambassadors of Nigeria. South South Zone. Nigeria. As he averred that YOUTHS must change their attitude and behaviour towards leadership and take responsibilities.
According to him, YOUTHS should see themselves as leaders of today not tomorrow as tomorrow may be too late. He also advised that youths should strive to lead from where they are. Any where they find themselves. Whether, in Religion, Education, Politics, Industries and what have you. He rounded of by telling the YOUTHS to constantly pose themselves this questions
